The return of silver in medicine dates back to the early 70's. Dr. Carl Moyer, chairman of the Washington Department of Surgery, received a contribution to developing better treatments for victims of burns. Dr. Margraf, biochemist, worked with Dr. Moyer and other surgeons to find an antiseptic strong enough, but also safe to use on large parts of the body. The result of their efforts was to find hundreds of new medical uses for silver. That is the only colloidal silver form that can be used safely as a supplement. It is slowly absorbed into the tissues so as not to cause irritation, unlike silver nitrate, which, because of its toxic, reacts violently with the tissues of the body. The colloidal particles diffuse gradually through the blood with a prolonged therapeutic time.
Many forms of bacteria, fungi and viruses use a specific enzyme for their metabolism. The silver acts as a catalyst by disabling the enzyme. Microorganisms in this mode choke. For primitive life forms such as micro-organisms, silver is toxic as the most powerful chemical disinfectants.
Dr. Larry C. Ford of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, UCLA School of Medicine, USA, in a letter dated 1 November 1988 he writes that the solutions of silver has bactericidal properties and fungicide for Candida albicans and Candida Globe.
Dr. E.M. Crooks says that colloidal silver eliminates pathogens in three or four minutes of contact.
The colloidal silver is effective against parasites, infections, influenza, and fermentation. It's without taste, without odor and non toxic. It's effective with meals to aid digestion by preventing the fermentation of food in the gut. Do not scrub the skin, unlike certain pharmaceutical preparations based on silver that they do so remarkable.
Dr. L. Keene (John Hopkins University) said that from the therapeutic point of view, only the colloidal metal present the necessary homogeneity, the particle size, purity and stability for a therapeutic outcome.
One of the critical indicators of the quality of silver colloidal is the color. As the particles increase in size, the color of the suspension becomes yellow to brown then red to gray and then black. The ideal form is the one with no color or a slight tendency to yellow.
